Ultract II
Standard Sinusoidal Encoder
Specifications |
|
Sensor evolution: from digital encoders to infinite
resolution |
The new generation of 6 track sinusoidal encoders overcomes the
traditional resolution limitations of resolvers and digital encoders.
The encoder signal, suitably processed by the drive, is absolute from
start-up within the mechanical revolution. The absolute signal is
obtained by processing the one cycle/rev tracks; after 1 revolution, the
high resolution index pulse is sensed and synchronized with the slow
track reading to attain a maximum accuracy. The resolution attainable
with the fast tracks, useful at low speed and in positioning, (2048
cycles/rev which can be intrerpolated) is virtually unlimited.
Consequently, excellent low speed servo performance and homogeneous
rotation can be achieved. The traditional limits of digital sensors are
overcome and irmovative control strategies, such as acceleration loop
control, are possible. The standard encoder accuracy is 20”.
